LA CONTESSA ARREDA

Situated just outside Rome in the Castelli Romani region in the ancient hearth of Albano Laziale, La Contessa Arreda is the boutique Claudio Marchesi and Andreas Bruzelius Berger. Both of us have a varied background within antique and old furniture. Claudio learnt the trade of classical restoration of antique furniture from his father and can spot a fake piece from a mile away. Andreas started going to auctions at an early age and has been interested in various eras and aspects of the trade ever since, which led to a collaboration between the two and in 2012 they opened La Contessa Arreda.

ITALIAN DESIGN

We tend to focus on Italian design roughly between 1930-80, a period in which interiors are being reimagined by a variety of Italian artists and designers. But each piece has to have some kind of appeal be it in composition, design, material, or quality.

Professional restoring

Aside from sourcing furniture and interor objects, we also emphasize on the process of professional restoring, be it wood, metal, stone or re-upholstery, working with professional trades people of course.

Interior Design

Apart from trading with vintage furniture Andreas Bruzelius Berger has been working as an interior designer as well as designing wallpaper.
